Sunday Music

Music energizes us and unites us in worship. A congregation singing together is breathing together; the song consists of words lifted on the breath, shaped by melody and rhythm. Instrumental music, without words, creates the spirit for various segments of worship: ingathering, meditation, offertory, praise, and learning about others.

To energize and enhance worship, the Music Program at UUFC incorporates the widest possible variety music. The congregation sings every Sunday morning, as well as at many other Fellowship events. The children learn songs from around the world in their Religious Exploration classes. The Choir sings for Sunday services twice a month. Musicians from within the Fellowship and from the larger community share music both in Sunday services and in concerts held in the Fellowship Hall. The Fellowship also sponsors the Corvallis Community choir which occasionally performs at UUFC worship services and elsewhere around town.
