The Office works on both urgent policy issues and long-term goals, as articulated in social witness positions passed by the General Assembly. Among other things, this web site includes a paper on "Congregations and IRS Guidelines on Advocacy, Lobbying, and Elections."
SAFETY
Balancing Acts: Keeping Children Safe in Congregations
This online manual offers information and procedural suggestions for leaders on how to assure that all children and youth will be safe from sexual abuse, sexual assault, and sexual harassment, through educating children and adults, implementing policies for religious education programs, and more.
MEMBERSHIP RESOURCES
The Uncommon Denomination
The UUA has made resources available raise the visibility of Unitarian Universalism. There are resources that focus on “in-reach” within our congregations and others that focus on outreach to the community. These resources are designed to assist congregations in the important work of growth.
New Congregation and Growth Resources
The UUA provides training for ministers and lay leaders in membership growth and planning and coordinates weekend workshops and consultations for small and mid-size congregations. The UUA also assists in the formation and development of new congregations, facilitates congregational affiliation and offers other resources to support growth.
